Matthew Williamson has unveiled the capusule collection he designed based on images sent to him by the public.
Back in July the Birtish designer asked for the public’s help as part of Canon’s interactive We Speak Image design project which marks the company’s second year as sponsors of London, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks.
The project asked the public in 17 European countries to upload images they feel best represent their country. The designers representing those countires then used the pick of these images as a starting point for a six-piece capsule collection – the proceeds of which will be donated to The Red Cross. read more »

Rachel Zoe says miniskirts are the must-have fashion item of the moment.
The celebrity stylist is a huge fan of shorter hemlines as she thinks they help flatter figures, but also has some advice for women who would prefer to cover up in jeans.
She said: “Mini is the length that’s happening right now. Shorter skirts elongate legs.But if you want most of your legs covered, add turn-ups to a boyfriend jean to expose a bit of the ankle. With a skinny jean, scrunch them up your calves.

Naomi Campbell is well known for her OTT diva-like strops and violent episodes, but in a bid to win back some respect from us non-supermodels out there, she had a little cry on Oprah Winfrey’s sofa this weekend.
Whilst I was busy watching men in leather race around a track, Naomi told the US chat show host that she has difficulty controlling her temper…. You don’t say Naomi.
She said; “It comes from a deeper place, from another type of emotional disorder. I feel remorseful and ashamed.” before admitting there was “no excuse” for her actions when she “saw red.”

The 32 year old looked thinner than ever when she arrived in JFK airport recently wearing a pair of ultra skinny jeans.
The former Spice girl is searching for a new house for her and her family’s move to LA later this year.
Although her spokesperson refused to comment on whether she had lost weight, sources have reportedly blamed stress for the apparent change in her appearance.
Victoria has visited New York, Madrid, Nice and London alone in the last two weeks and friends close to the star said the non-stop flying is playing havoc wit her appetite. read more »

Giorgio Armani has received an honorary degree for industrial design.
The legendary Italian designer was honoured by the Politecnico di Milano University recently.
This is his second honorary degree in the last six months; London’s University of Arts awarded him a doctorate in October.
WWD also reported that he gave the budding design students the benefit of his experience. He said:”A collection can be destroyed by the press, but if you believe it, keep it.”
Armani’s trademark elegant and classic designs have earned his company sales of a reported $1 billion. read more »

Donatella Versace described her label’s new look recently.
The flamboyant designer wanted her latest collection to be more sophisticated, natural but still sexy.
She said;” Women want to be beautiful, sensual, glamorous- but not overtly sexy.”
I like women who don’t look like they try too hard. Looking natural in clothes, in make-up- it’s just a look.”
The latest look is a radical departure from the overt sexuality of the brand in the early 1990’s when her late brother Gianni was creative director. read more »

Vivienne Westwood took part in a huge anti-war demonstration recently.
The iconic designer joined other stars including Bianca Jagger and Annie Lennox in London’s Parliament Square.
Westwood was fighting on behalf if the anti-Trident rally, which is opposing government, plans to implement a replacement for Trident Nuclear missiles.

Lily Allen has blamed Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy for her recent ‘fat and ugly’ outburst.
The 22 year old has been flooded with messages of support from fans after she posted a self hatred rant on her My Space page.

Trinny and Susannah have launched a new clothing line for Littlewoods.
The style gurus have been working with the home shopping catalogue for several years to produce flattering fashion solutions for women.
Susannah said:” On all our TV shows, we cone across the same problems. How do you get a flattering pair of trousers if you have short legs and a large bum, or longer legs and a big tum?”
She also told Grazia: “The way you buy is by going on-line and answering questions about your shape, then getting the trousers to suit- and we’ve done some great coats too.”

Victoria Beckham is threatening to sue jeans label Rock & Republic.
The former Spice Girl designed her own brand jeans for the trendy label but has since parted company with the brand.
According to reports, the star’s legal team is considering a 50 million pound lawsuit for ‘loss of earnings.’
Victoria signed a deal with the fashion firm in 2004 to produce her own line and a share in the profits. The Mirror reported that she has been paid more than half a million by the company.
Rock & Republic have been given a deadline of last week by Victoria to respond to her claim. read more »
