Burberry’s plans to close one of their factories in the Rhondda valley, Wales has been threatened by support from celebrities.
Actors Rhys Ifans, Ioan Gruffudd and opera singer Bryn Terfel have all lent their support to the campaign.
Burberry have made plans to shut the Treorchy plant in March, resulting in 300 job losses.
The fashion company announced in September it was looking to relocate production abroad because the factory was not “commercially viable”.
They have since backtracked and offered their Welsh staff work in their site in Yorkshire. read more »

Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton has landed a fashion job with high street clothing company Jigsaw.
The 25 year old has been working for the last seven week as an assistant buyer for their junior accessories line.
According to reports, the Prince urged her to get a job because he feared she was being ‘portrayed as footballers-wives – style professional shopper.’
The Mail also reported that the Prince had expressed concern because she had no full time work organised since graduating from University in 2005. read more »

The Girls Aloud babe launched her criticisms in a magazine interview after becoming the new face of Ultimo.
She said:” Victoria is a very glamorous lady- a fashion icon- but I think she’s ill. She could certainly afford to eat a chip, but she’d probably have one and want the plateful.”
The Mirror also reported that a close friend of Posh dismissed the comments adding that people always try to use Victoria’s name to generate publicity.
Sarah also added :” What’s sexy about being straight up and down skinny?” The female body should be an hour glass figure- not anorexic looking.”

Jennifer Lopez has ditched her ‘ sexy sexy’ image because she is happily married.
The pop diva and actress said she has changed her image since her marriage to Marc Antony.
This change is a far cry from her normal show stopping outfits. When she was with hip hop mogul P.Diddy( aka Puff Daddy ) she once wore a green Versace dress slashed to the navel which left little to the imagination.
The new Mrs Antony who designs her own clothes range called Sweet face, told a US magazine this week that she now prefers’ clothes that are closed up to the neck with bows.’

Sienna Miller spent nearly £2890 recently in erotic boutique Coco De Mer.
The 24 year old actress bought a pair of handcuffs and a leather body harness.
The saucy items are produced through the Fair Trade scheme which the actress supports.
Although Sienna split with her on/off boyfriend Jude Law two weeks ago, there is speculation that she bought the items for a trip to Kenya with him at Christmas.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s next collection will be inspired by “London street style”.
The 23-year-old twins – who have three clothing lines, The Row, Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye – want to add to the lower-priced juniors range Olsenboye and have been getting ideas from fashion in the UK capital.
Ashley said: “We’re looking to cute little British girls. We’re doing London street style next.”

The supermodel Kate Moss has made an appearance as Vicky Pollard’s twin sibling in a Little Britain Comic Relief special.
The crowds watching applauded as she strolled onto the stage wearing a blue trackie top and black leggings yesterday evening as Katie Pollard.
Comic Matt Lucas, in character as the gobby Vicky informed the audience that Katie was the attractive one in the Pollard nest. And the famous fashion icon joked:”I’m the easy one. Total slag. I’m anybody’s for a packet of Quavers.”

Linsday Lohan has lost a 20,000 Cartier bracelet after a week’s partying in London.
Cartier loaned the 20 year old actress the diamond bracelet to wear at the World Music Awards earlier this week.
A source told the Sun that the jewellers slapped her with a bill for the value of the bracelet after they learnt it had gone missing.
The source said:” Lindsay couldn’t find it anywhere and was trying to stall for time. The room was turned upside down.. Lindsay ducked out of seeing the jewellers herself and left her management to sweep it under the carpet.”
It is not the first time that Lohan has lost valuable jewellery. read more »

According to the latest tabloids, What Not to Wear has been so amazingly successful since its new presenters Mica Paris and Liza Butcher took over, that the BBC is set to produce another set of episodes.
Viewers figures for the fashion programme have soared since the pair stepped into the shoes of Trinny Woodhall and Susannah Constantine. About 4.9 million people sat down to watch last week’s show – 700,000 extra viewers than for their debut one.

Fashion designer Hedi Slimane is rumoured to be having trouble re- negotiating his contract with Dior.
Slimane’s trademark skinny suits and slick tailoring has made Dior Homme a must have label for men and women.
The reason for the tension is salary demands reported vogue online ; the three year contract expires next month.
According to WWD, the launch of Slimane own womenswear range is also causing problems at the negotiating table.
It has not been decided if the line would be backed by another company or stay under the Dior umbrella. read more »
